This painting was in an exhibition of Long Island artists at the Heckscher Museum, which was reviewed by Helen Harrison in the New York Times. She wrote, "Among the notable two-dimensional works are,,,Pat Ralph's oil, "Winter Sky", a moody view through telephone wires toward towering clouds tinged with a peachy glow." At the opening a viewer came up to me saying, "I would have liked it better if you had put a lineman on the pole." You can't please everybody.
