This painting won an award donated by Chemical Bank at a museum exhibition. Subsequently, a depositor saw it and, affronted that anyone would paint a tick, complained to the bank and demanded that the painting be removed. Both the bank and the museum refused. It appears the First Amendment, as it applies to insects, is alive and well.
