Mantelpiece Self-portrait With Deer Tick Taking Off Flying High Falling Making Shore Aerobics in the Kitchen Painting in Winter
Self-portraits
When I look back I see that my self-portraits usually have been responses to circumstance. It could be something personal, like discovering a deer tick on my neck after once having contracted Lyme disease, or a reaction to some aspect of the painting life, such as being pigeon-holed as a landscape painter, as on my home page, or having to show in a room with architectural blemishes.
