This painting was commissioned by the Inn at National Hall in Westport, CT, for over the fireplace in the guests' lounge. The decorator wanted it to be a portrait of the owner's wife and requested that the colors match those in the rugs, the fabrics and the hand painted walls. The subject agreed on condition that I include her necklace charm and toe ring. The dog was my idea.
